NEW TRANSIT-SERVED REGIONAL CENTER Queensland, Australia

Planned as a new, transit-served, sub-regional center, Ripley Valley lies approximately 25 miles southwest of Brisbane, in southern Queensland, Australia, in an area slated for future growth in the State Sector Plan, along a proposed transit corridor regional extension.

The plan uses state-of-the-art, best practices in storm water management and water quality, and employs a unique phasing and implementation
strategy which perfectly matches the introduction of new commercial components with demand on the residential side, to provide a net balance of uses throughout the build-out scenario. The same is true on the transit side as regional transportation assets are upgraded on a the basis of predetermined benchmarks, culminating in a regional commuter rail line and station.

Seth Harry and Associates, Inc., worked on the town center and overall commercial plan, and helped produce the overall master plan for the project, which spanned both sides of the proposed regional road and rail corridor, with DPZ Pacific.
